We need more nurturing and care during the winter months.

Posted on: June 19th, 2017

I’ve had many people ask me what I do to keep well during the autumn and winter months.  Often when it’s cold we feel like hibernating (I know I do) which is a natural response to protect your body from the cold.  Winter is when we have to cope with more dust and dirt within our homes, as we tend to stay indoors where we are warm and cosy.

Good organic food, vitamins, minerals and the use of essential oils and colloidal silver are what I find keeps my body in balance and boosts my immune system.  I still get sick occasionally, we all do, but I find in my case it’s more due to an emotional crisis than to my body being exposed to all the bugs and viruses.  When I do get sick it doesn’t last long, usually only 1 to 2 days whereas in the past if I came down with the flu it could last anything from a week to 2 weeks.

Cleansing our bodies is vital to our health and well-being and certainly helps improve our immune system.

The following suggestions may help you too.

1. Clean up your diet by avoiding processed food to limit additives, preservatives and eliminate simple sugars.

2. Have a regular nutritional detox and a colon cleanse (if you are really determined) to help support liver and kidneys.

3. Investigate any food sensitivities or allergies that may be affecting your digestion. Take a medical-grade  multivitamin to support your cellular function, digestion and elimination.

4. Drink plenty of purified or filtered water — at least six to eight glasses per day, more if your body weight is greater than average.

5. Consider regular visits to a lymphatic drainage massage therapist. A wonderful way to feel and look great.

6. Breathe deeply from the diaphragm, not shallowly from the chest.  This is one of the best ways to move lymph fluid  through your body.

7. Get regular physical exercise. What’s important is that you make it a regular and enjoyable part of your life.

8. Don’t be afraid to sweat. Sweating helps detoxify the body and supports lymphatic function and elimination.

9. Avoid restrictive clothing that press on your lymph nodes. Underwire, over-tight bras, jeans and skirts can impede lymph flow.

10. Use products that help with elimination such as BE Lite for Cellulite.  Massage those specific areas and the lymph nodes in the  back of the legs, groin and underarms on a daily basis.

11. Importantly examine emotional issues –  “our biography becomes our biology.” Find a way of dealing with past issues.

You may find that as your body detoxes and you “lighten up”, so does your spirit!
