My Story by Elaine

Tuesday, 26 March 2019 1:36:08 PM Australia/Sydney

I’ll tell you all my story
In hope that you will see
The therapeutic benefits
Obtained from using BE

I always knew that nature
Held secrets yet untold
Abound with ageless remedies
Passed down from days of old

The smell of grandma’s lavender
And homegrown herbal Tea
Were just a part of childhood
Familiar to me

Did you know that our doctors now make a Physician's Pledge rather than swear on the Hippocratic Oath?  A great majority of people still believe that our doctors swear by the Hippocratic Oath as part of their doctor training not realising that they now use the Physician's Pledge.

Which one do you prefer?

HIPPOCRATIC OATH

I swear by Apollo Physician and Asclepius and Hygieia and Panaceia and all the gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will fulfill according to my ability and judgment this oath and this covenant:

To hold him who has taught me this art as equal to my parents and to live my life in partnership with him, and if he is in need of money to give him a share of mine, and to regard his offspring as equal to my brothers in male lineage and to teach them this art - if they desire to learn it - without fee and covenant; to give a share of precepts and oral instruction and all the other learning to my sons and to the sons of him who has instructed me and to pupils who have signed the covenant and have taken an oath according to the medical law, but no one else.

Aromatherapy Changes Lives

Thursday, 24 January 2019 10:18:05 AM Australia/Sydney

"Oh I have been meaning to write a letter about the life that Balanced Essentials has given not only me but my whole family. It was around 18 years ago I tuned into TVSN to watch my favourite bear show... But it wasn't to be, instead they were having a long event celebrating a new supplier and Cheryl was there to chat with customers and answer questions.

I watched thinking maybe this could work... When they started talking about BE Sport and BE Relieved I was more intrigued... You see I had a young child who was born with cerebral palsy and as such had lots of muscle spasms and was about to have major orthopaedic surgery and I was concerned of the amount of medication that would be needed to ease his pain.

So I took the option to call up and explained this to Cheryl, she was lovely and advised that the BE Sport and BE Relieved would be a great help to him (as I was only on a pension the send it back if not satisfied option sold me) I placed my order and eagerly awaited the first shipment."

Our amazing animal stories and comments

Wednesday, 11 July 2018 2:40:40 PM Australia/Sydney

All our products are made using the highest quality therapeutic essential oils and other natural botanical extracts. However I never realised that as well as helping people that they would also help the pet and animal family of our customers as well. How wonderful!  And as our products don't contain tea tree or eucalyptus and are also blended in the correct ratios, they have been so very comforting and appropriate to help them with their pain and anxiety. Cheryl Gilbert www.aroma.com.au

"Dear Cheryl, I have been using your BE Relieved & BE Sport now for approx. 12 years after a car accident I had back in 2001 that left me in a lot of pain. I use it these days for my chronic arthritis pain; it is honestly the only thing that gives me any relief so believe me when I tell you I can NOT live without either of these oils. I have to tell you I have recently been using BE Calm on my dogs during thunder storms, my dogs are absolutely terrified of the thunder (like most dogs) and  my older dog Rebel who is now 10 years old would get so scared at times I thought he was going to die. I now rub the BE Calm on them the minute I know a storm is going to hit and as God is my witness it calms them down during the thunder. I have recommended BE Calm to a few of my girlfriends who also have dogs that are terrified of the thunder and it has worked for them also, and like me they will never be without it, EVER I had tried everything from thunder shirts to Valium ( on vets recommendation) but nothing worked till BE Calm. Thank You Cheryl for creating these amazing oils that have honestly changed my life & my family’s lives and now my dogs lives for the better." Kind Regards, Kim Hannell

"This is for all the people who think aromatherapy is all in the mind. I have a dog with a collapsed disc in his back and he has also had a couple of operations for cancer. The vet placed him on tablets that disagreed with him and gave him the runs and not so nice side-effects. This did not give him any pain relief and in desperation I tried the BE Calm oil on him one night and it helped him.  I have also used the BE Relieved on him and now if he is in pain and can’t sleep at night he comes looking for the oils.  I now keep them on the coffee table and he will get the bottle and bring it to whoever is at home to apply it to his tummy. So for all the non-believers out there my dog has no idea what it is – just that it helps with his pain." Marie & Rod Penhall.

You could be our 50,000th order and receive a $500 gift voucher

Friday, 23 March 2018 3:24:48 PM Australia/Sydney

Wow!  It's hard to believe that we will invoice our 50,000th order in the next few days.  It is so very close!

If you need to order, now is a great time and this number could be yours.

To celebrate this incredible achievement, Balanced Essentials will give the lucky customer whose Invoice number is 50,000 a $500 GIFT VOUCHER which they can use to purchase products, either all at once or over time as they need more.

And this is remarkable as it's not the 50,000th product being sold that makes it so special, as some of the invoices that have been processed (such as the Television Shopping Channel) have had over 2,000 products ordered just on 1 invoice!

HISTORY OF BALANCED ESSENTIALS

Friday, 23 March 2018 11:33:56 AM Australia/Sydney

Balanced Essentials began in May 1996 to provide a balance between conventional and alternative with emphasis on educating and supporting people in their endeavor to heal themselves.

Cheryl Gilbert, owner, creator and the energy behind Balanced Essentials began her love of fragrance as a child mixing her aunt's expensive French perfumes.  Her inspiration came after working as a trainee nurse 20 years ago where she recognized that to facilitate true healing we must address the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the individual.

An intense interest in Aromatherapy and a desire to create her own products developed into producing the Balanced Essentials range.  Through owning and operating her own shop in Beecroft, Sydney Cheryl recognized the need and desire for aromatherapy products to be simple and easy to understand.  Many customers expressed the feeling that the existing brands on the market concentrated too much on individual blends i.e. basil, lavender etc and some ranges comprised 40 of these thus making it difficult for people to choose which oils they purchased. Did they smell good together?; and also did they create the desired effect.  This meant that up to six or seven oils would have to be opened at once then a decision would have to be made on how many drops of each one to blend together.

This led Cheryl

Why does applying aromatherapy as soon as you injure yourself work better?

Thursday, 30 November 2017 11:41:00 AM Australia/Sydney

We all injure ourselves at some point in our lives.  Active sports people often overdue it and "pull a muscle", gardeners are prone to "bad backs" and "strained tendons", even non-active people can  fall and slip over leaving bruising and sometimes a fracture.

The soft tissues in the area of pain are easily damaged. Immediately after the injury, there are disrupted fibers of the affected muscle, tendon, and/or ligament. Additionally, the tiny blood vessels (capillaries) that normally supply blood and oxygen to these tissues are broken. The broken capillaries then leak varying amounts of blood and serum into the adjacent tissues. Therefore, soon after a soft tissue injury, localized swelling occurs. The injured tissues become painful and tender, both directly from the trauma to them and indirectly from the subsequent swelling. This leads to the stiffness, pain, and tenderness that so often accompany the inflammation of tendinitis, bursitis, as well as strain and sprain injuries. It should also be noted that even a bone injury (such as a fracture) is typically accompanied by injury to the nearby soft tissues.

Balanced Essentials began as ...

Tuesday, 3 October 2017 4:30:18 PM Australia/Sydney

Balanced Essentials Aromatherapy began as a vision in May 1996 to provide a balance between conventional and alternative with emphasis on educating and supporting people in their endeavour to heal themselves.

Cheryl Gilbert, owner, creator and the energy behind Balanced Essentials began her love of fragrance as a child mixing her aunt's expensive French perfumes. An intense interest in Aromatherapy and a desire to create her own products developed into producing the Balanced Essentials range.

Most people that are drawn to aromatherapy do so out of a desire to reduce the stress in their lives and achieve benefits from these essential oils.

All the development, from the colour and quality of the packaging, unique design, blends that are simple and easy to use and support the many moods and diverse needs of individuals.

Extensive research was carried out to find the exact formulations that were the most appropriate and effective for the blends. An intuitive approach to the blending and a skill for creating appealing fragrances allowed each product to also have a wonderful aroma as well as creating all the benefits that each blend offered.

BE Relieved – A Calming Blend for Pain & Inflammation and  BE Sport – A Stimulating Blend for Pain & Inflammation (as shown on A Current Affair),  and BE Lite for Cellulite are the premier products of the company and are supported by a range of massage/facial blends, pure essential oil blends for the vapouriser, natural soaps, hand cream (winner of 2016 Nature & Beauty Awards and natural deodorant (winner of 2016 Nature & Health Beauty Awards).  All these products are made using the highest quality therapeutic essential oils and other natural botanical extracts.

Cheryl’s products – the Balanced Essentials range – has been one of the top three ranges ever promoted on TVSN (The Television Shopping Network Channel on Foxtel & Optus) in the Health & Beauty category, and have held the records for the largest amount of sales in one day and the fastest sales of any product.  Her products also have the reputation of having the highest repeat sales to existing customers and the least number of product returns. Her live TV shows which were first aired in March 2000 throughout Australia & New Zealand have attracted a large audience of customers. Their comments and testimonials to the incredible effectiveness of the products outnumber any that has ever been received by TVSN.

In March 2008 Cheryl co-authored a research paper "Pain Management using Essential Oils and Aromatherapy Validated by Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging Technology” with Ric Williams (Industrial and Environmental Chemist) and Pauline Rose (Thermographer – Thermography Australia)   and presented it at the 42nd Conference of the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists in March at The Marriot, Surfer's Paradise.  The results of this research have been ground-breaking and support the scientific inclusion of aromatherapy in medicine, cosmetics, toiletries and perfumery.  This is an advance on the petrochemical/chemical inclusion that prevails in general products available in the marketplace now. We are seeing more and more allergic reactions to synthetic additives and consumers are now demanding (and rightly so) safe and effective natural products.

In the July 2008 issue of Personal Care Magazine (published in the UK and is distributed worldwide) our research paper "Using Digital Thermal Imaging to Validate Pain Relief with Essential Oils" was included.  It was the only technical paper to be included.

On 17 April 2009 BE Relieved and BE Sport were shown on A Current Affair as the ‘miracle oils’.

Cheryl feels privileged to be involved in the aromatherapy and health industry and is humbled by the support and encouragement of her many repeat customers. She is passionately engaged in ongoing development and research to prove the use and efficacy of essential oils. Her aim is to encourage the acceptance of aromatherapy as a first-measure treatment of pain and inflammation.

BE RELIEVED, BE SPORT, BE LITE ... Which one do I chose?

Wednesday, 13 September 2017 2:56:36 PM Australia/Sydney

It's really very simple.

BE RELIEVED is our most popular pain relief product and that's because it's so versatile. As well as helping with pain and inflammation it is also very calming and is the best one to use at night to help with sleep. Geranium oil is used for its anti-inflammatory properties, while Bergamot and Orange are used for their anti-spasmodic properties. Neroli helps with calming and is used in aromatherapy for shock and grief. BE RELIEVED also combines lavender and marjoram for their pain relief and sedative properties.

BE SPORT is a good choice when you need a stimulating blend to help wake you up and prepare you for any activity. It is ideal to use before or after sport as it assists to prevent muscle cramps and spasms and reduces swelling, while also providing temporary relief of muscular aches and pains. BE SPORT increases circulation to the muscles and stimulates the brain by the inclusion of basil and rosemary. It also helps smooth out any muscles in spasm and is very good at helping with any bruising because it contains arnica essential oil which also helps with muscle strains and sprains, swelling and cramps. It helps damaged, inflamed tissue recover quickly. BE SPORT incorporates Lemongrass oil to help tone muscle, Lemon oil to assist peripheral circulation and Bergamot and Orange oils for their anti-spasmodic properties.

BE LITE for Cellulite helps with the body by speeding up the removal of toxins.  Many of our customers choose this product when they have a problem with fluid e.g. ankles, knees or when they have problems with lymphodaema. BE LITE is formulated for use on the buttocks, thighs, stomach and arms and works to improve the appearance of skin by reducing fluid retention, assisting blood circulation and stimulating circulation. BE LITE combines the astringent properties of Cypress and Frankincense oils with Ginger oil to assist in the maintenance of peripheral circulation as well as Juniper oil, known for its benefits in reducing fluid retention. Orange and Sage are used to aid and help stimulate digestion.
